Job description

The Cluster Manager is responsible for managing the sites with a profitable attitude (P&L responsible), taking into account the contractual obligations/agreements with the customer, (internal) suppliers and developments in the market. The total agreed logistics service for the customers on the sites: all agreed customer requirements must be met at least in accordance with EBIT standards and quality requirements. Is responsible for customer and employee satisfaction and the care of the building. Complies with all applicable laws and regulations (including environmental requirements) in the performance of the job. Initiates concrete commercial proposals together with Key Account Management and possibly. the customer and stimulates cross selling opportunities together with the GEODIS counterparts. Initiates and stimulates continuous improvement, in which innovations and LEAN organization are part of the responsibilities.
Result areas:
-Policy
Result; Establishing the operational and commercial policy of the existing customers within the responsible sites, taking into account the wishes, requirements and developments of the customer, for the site, aligned with the policy and objectives of Geodis CL Netherlands and taking into account other GEODIS entities where possible.
-Budget/Financial
Result; Drafting, agreeing, monitoring and realising the approved annual budget for the sites. Budgeting, justifying, initiating, steering on turnover and cost reductions, contribution margin and EBIT and initiating investments in accordance with procedures agreed within Geodis. Validating commercial proposals for potential new customers and initiating contract renewals for existing customers.
-Relationship management
Result; building and maintaining a good relationship with customers, their supply chain and stakeholders of the sites.
-Operational
Result; Responsible for services provided to the customers in accordance with and in line with the Service Level Agreement or contractual obligations.
-Quality
Result; Responsible for Business Excellence for the scope of the sites with the aim of total stakeholder satisfaction.
-Reporting
Result; Validating customer billing, P&L reporting/analysis. Reporting weekly financial and operational progress to the Director Operations CL.
-P & O
Result; Coaching, assessing and developing employees in accordance with applicable procedures and laws and regulations.
-Annual plans
The annual plan contains both strategic and tactical matters that are important for the year, but also for the long(er) term. This plan identifies all important milestones.

Applicant's profile

Job requirements
-Completed Technical/Business Administration or logistics education at HBO+ level or obtained through knowledge and/or experience.
-Additional training in the field of logistics.
-Thorough knowledge of logistics automation packages (warehouse management systems, etc.)
-Experience with financial management and drawing up budgets
-Knowledge of Sales/Account management/Purchasing/HRM
-Experienced leader/coach
-Experience with implementations
-Administrative sensitivity is an advantage.

Specific job characteristics and skills:
-Oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English required to be able to communicate at all levels and to prepare reports and policy memorandums.
-Social skills, required for maintaining in-depth internal and external contacts within all parts of the organization.
-Persuasiveness and negotiation skills for instructing, motivating and correcting employees and for concluding contracts with external parties.
-Analytical ability and vision to translate policy into practical matters and vice versa.
-Charismatic leader who sets out visible site-transcending actions to get managers at various levels on board in a certain direction.

Prior to the start of employment, an employee with Dutch nationality must submit a Certificate of Good Conduct to GEODIS, which is requested from the municipality in which the employee lives (in most cases digitally) on the basis of a profile issued by GEODIS. Employees with a nationality other than the Netherlands are required to have a similar document issued by the competent authorities in the country in which the employee is registered.
If you work at a site where air freight is handled (currently the Rotterdam site), this document must be requested and issued every 5 years.
