Job description

The position is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily customs operations team's activities. It is accountable for efficient and compliant customers' shipments processing, overseeing team performance and continuous improvement and optimization initiatives. The position is a key liaison between customs authorities, clients, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
• Lead and manage a team of customs operations specialists, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high performance and professional growth setting of clear objectives and key performance indicators for the team, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Responsible for knowledge sharing practices and communication across team
• Plans and oversees daily customs clearance activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws and ensuring satisfaction level for all stakeholders
• Coordinates activities with different stakeholders i.e. freight forwarders, brokers, and customs authorities to resolve any issues or delays in the clearance process.
• Ensures teams manage accurate and timely preparation and submission of customs documentation, including declarations, permits, and licenses.
• Monitors changes in customs regulations and ensure the team is informed and compliant with all requirements.
• Execute regular audits of customs processes and documentation to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
• Creates, develops and implements procedures to improve operational efficiency and reduce non-compliance risks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding customs-related inquiries and issues.
• Creates strong relationships with customs authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice and support to clients on customs regulations and procedures.
• Identifies process improvements opportunities and leads initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of customs operations.
• Analyze operational data and metrics to drive decision-making and optimize team performance.
• Develop and deliver training programs to upskill team members and ensure ongoing compliance knowledge.
• Prepares regular reports on customs operations performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance audits and inspections
• Reporting any deviations following the agreed process
• Support internal/external parties/departments/institutions with relevant documentation for related audits and business control upon request
• Complying with and implementing within his/her scope of work all company's and clients' standards, policies and procedures
• Taking actions in order to provide added value and optimize supply chain processes within group, company and client in order to achieve satisfactory service

Applicant's profile

Bachelor's degree in international Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field or a relevant working experience, minimum of 5 years of experience in customs operations, relevant customs agent license/ Certification in customs compliance or related field, proficiency in customs management software and tools, MS Office, English language
