Job description
Working in the Freight Forwarding Line of Business (LoB) and in a matrix organization with regional and corporate stakeholders, the Global H&S Manager will play a key role in developing safety with the project logistics team and responding to our key customers. They will promote H&S and continuous improvement culture through the Freight Forwarding community.
H&S in Project Logistics
Based on an analysis of the actual situation, propose the strategy for the LOB H&S role.
Customer
• Provide technical advice and support to Project Logistics' activities (Industrial Projects) on H&S topics.
• Support the network on H&S requirements for tenders and project/contract implementation and execution.
• Answer to RFQ if needed
Sub-contractors
• Assess and audit if needed the PL main suppliers, maintain the list of qualified suppliers
Processes
• Animate the network of H&S representatives for PL and with the regions
• Design, adapt and maintain FF LoB H&S documentation and deploy within the network
• Design and roll-out necessary H&S training programs, supporting the development of staff to ensure the understanding of H&S Standards and their compliance requirements.
• Investigate and follow-up on major & critical incidents, accidents; Support the process of root-cause analysis related to such H&S related incidents and provide follow-up reporting to Freight Forwarding Management.
• Support Corporate H&S team in the development of corporate programs and plans (BCP, Crisis Management).
As PL activities are not stable (peak and low), the following topics could be done:
• Auditing: ISO9001, 14001, 45001 audits on site (with regional agreement)
• Contribute to the ISO certification in Levallois
• Dangerous Goods: develop standards, Q&A and support the local QHSE coordinator with the support of experts.
Applicant's profile
Profile
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Health & Safety (H&S) management, highly recommended in the logistics industry
• Understanding of Project Logistics / Industrial Projects activities (for example, Oil & Gas, Wind Power, Energy, heavy lift) is recommended. Direct experience in project activities is an asset.
• Understanding of ISO 45001 standards, having implemented or worked with implementing these standards.
• Ability to travel internationally (expected to be 20% but dependent on business requirements)
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization, multicultural environment, and to communicate across all levels of the organization
• Strong ability to define programs & strategic plans and systemic problem-solving skills.
