Job description

1. Procurement
- Purchase rates from airlines on local level
- Prepare and be an active member in monthly MBR meetings with top 10 airlines and QBR meetings with all other airlines; administrate and communicate this meeting within AIR freight Branch
- Attend & initiate meetings with Global Procurement
- Minimum: 2 meetings per year
- Fixed agenda points: rates, core carrier compliance, market development, etc.
- Daily Sales and OPS support – Special Requests, all Ad Hoc requests with chargeable weight +1500 kgs
- Improve buying rates for existing business / monthly review of contract rates and allocations to check competitiveness.
- Responsible for set up, and keep up to date system with all rates in Internal airfreight buying system (wwics and/or cargo office)

2. Product Airflex, Airsave and Airfast
- Act as bridge between procurement and sales department by managing and developing selling rate strategy for new and existing airfreight customers in cooperation with branch and BD managers.
- Actively promote our products Airsave Fast and Flex.

3. Operations
- Take ownership of shipments which are escalated by Export Manager, give him pro-active advice so he can solve the escalation.
- On projects, liaise directly with OPS to make a solid plan to optimize operational execution of shipment.
- Monitor shipments – special projects - that require additional attention.

4. Manage & coach direct reports:
- Day-to-day management (leave, holiday, coaching, and communication)
- Performance & development monitoring and follow-up
- Ensure sufficient day-to-day personnel occupation and division (& execution) of labor
- Discuss and implement improvement areas and ideas in close cooperation with Branch Manager

5. Pricing
- Ad-hoc rate requests network and new/existing customers
- Issue quotations for outside sales managers
- Follow up ad-hoc quotations with customers
- Responsible for managing all incoming rate requests from existing customers

6. Reporting
- Internal: monthly reporting, creating and keeping up to date air procurement dashboard.
- Air procurement dashboard: overview of used carriers; top 10 and all others, overview of booked volumes, overview of achieved buying rates & market development.
- Report of MBRs and QBRs to BM and MD (for the top 10 Carriers).

Applicant's profile

• In depth knowledge of operational freight forwarding processes
• Good knowledge of freight forwarding processes and regulations: supplier conditions, Inco terms, purchase conditions, risks and insurance terms.
• Understanding of financials and the impact on business
• Well acquainted with MS Office applications and IT systems/processes used in the freight forwarding industry
• Excellent verbal and writing skills in local, English and German or French language
• 3 -5 years of relevant experience in the freight forwarding & logistics industry with a strong commercial interest
