Job description

As Project Operator you are responsible for the coordination of shipments according to the specifications of the customer and guidelines of Geodis. The department is specialized in shipments that contains resupply in shipspares but also heavy lift, over dimensional or that are out of gauge cargo and this require multi-modal operating skills.

Your role within this department will be to take care of shipment files from A-Z (incl. invoicing etc.). You are the contact person for the customer and ensures that at all times the customer is informed and your team is up to date. You are responsible for a neat and complete administration in the appropriate systems. It can occur that you must visually check the cargo at for example the harbor or/and at the customer (in NL).

Through proactive communication, your strong professional knowledge and service-oriented attitude you are able to build strong relationships with the customer, suppliers and our global Geodis network. You make sure that your branch knowledge stays up-to-date and you will back- up other colleagues during absence or peaks in workload. In this position you will work from our office at Rotterdam-Albrandswaard and report to the Teamleader Industrial Projects.

- You have knowledge of the forwarding process and documents relevant to Freight Forwarding Import and Export (supplier conditions, Incoterms, basic customs regulations, tariffs etc.).
- You understand the financial picture of the forwarding process (costs, loss, profit, currencies).
- You are an experienced user of one or more IT systems used within the freight forwarding industry and MS Office applications.
- You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (written & verbal) and have good intercultural skills.
- You are a representative pro-active communicator and a team player with commercial skills and take responsibility for his/her project
