Job description
The Objectives of the FF Finance IT Department are:
• To design, standardize, maintain and optimize the Finance Core Model processes within our main systems (NextGen, Basware, Dynamics AX, SAP, EPM, BO Finance) to deliver data reliability and productivity gains expected by Geodis Freight Forwarding LoB
• Lead from FF LoB the implementation of Global projects such as MDM, EPM and the new ERP System.
• To support the HQ, regional and local Finance teams to be compliant with the core and local processes/rules.
• To support the BI department to implement solutions satisfying the best practices of our business.
• Organize and lead project meetings, including regular follow-ups and escalation sessions with key stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor high-level and detailed project plans, ensuring timely reporting to the Finance IT Director.
• Provide daily leadership and oversight to the Finance IT Project Team, including Project Officers and Analysts.
• Gain deep understanding of financial accounting, operational finance, and business processes to identify pain points and propose innovative, value-driven solutions.
• Analyse and recommend best practices to automate, optimize, simplify, and secure finance-related business processes, enhancing operational efficiency and value creation.
• Lead the harmonization and implementation of core finance systems, aligning with the FF Finance Core Model to streamline processes across tools (OPS/FIN/BI).
• Participate in special projects and perform assigned duties, including research, validation, testing, and documentation as required.
• Design, validate, and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) solutions within the Finance stream to support business insights and decision-making.
• Validate new system enhancements, assess associated risks, and ensure proper implementation within CW1, focusing on Finance system configuration and processes.
• Monitor and maintain the PS System, including reconciliation processes, system developments, enhancements, and regression testing.
• Ensure proper documentation and regular updates of all Finance processes, promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Provide continuous support to FF Finance Key Users at the local, regional, and HQ levels, acting as a key liaison for issue resolution and system improvement.
Applicant's profile
• Bachelor degree with minimum 10 years of experience in Logistics
• Fluent in English (written and verbal);
• Deep understanding of FF Finance Core Processes and Finance Systems ( AX, Basware, Qliksense)
• Experience in Cargowise system, both finance processes and system configuration is a plus
• Great level of understanding on Financial Accounting and Controlling business processes
• Project Management Experience
• Strong financial analysis skills, detailed oriented with expert knowledge of accounting procedures
• Highly proficient PC skills including; Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
• International experience and mind-set
• Ability to design and deploy application roadmaps, with solid technical and functional landscape
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Experience crafting effective monthly story-telling materials, weekly/monthly performance decks and financial management materials
• Problem solving, decision making, negotiation and conflict management skills are needed in day to day job
• Organization, time management, delegation, forward planning and strategic thinking skills are needed to drive the team and activities successfully to the target
