Job description

As Export Manager you'll have an important role in our Airfreight Branch. You are responsible for day-to-day activities and managing & coaching your team (+/-15 FTE). In collaboration with the Branch Manager AIR you set a strategy for the department to ensure the continued success of the department. You set and monitor KPI's and will be responsible for the performance of the team. You strive for customer satisfaction and good customer service in which you develop and maintain relationships with (high potential) accounts , overseas agents, airlines, etc.

You will be responsible for the daily operational execution of all export activities (operational productivity & quality) by the Freight Forwarders in your team, and participates in the operational execution of export services him/ herself when/where necessary.
You make sure that your branch knowledge stays up-to-date and you will back up other colleagues during absence or peaks in workload. In this position you will work from our office at Schiphol-Rijk and report to the Branch Manager AIR.

Applicant's profile

- You have a vocational (HBO) working and thinking level and have at least 8 years relevant freight forwarding experience and 4 – 5 years leadership experience.
- You understand the financial picture of the forwarding process (costs, loss, profit, currencies).
- You are an experienced user of one or more IT systems used within the freight forwarding industry and MS Office applications.
- You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (written & verbal) and have good intercultural skills.
- You are a representative pro-active communicator and a team player, ready to be challenged by a high profile customer.
