Job description

Position summary: The position is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's compliance and export control programs. This role involves leading a team of compliance and export control specialists, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations, and implementing strategies to mitigate risk. The position works closely with various departments to ensure seamless integration of compliance processes into business operations and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies.
Executing monthly/mid-year/annual compliance testing activities including classification of goods as well as all other activities related to customs compliance depending on clients' requirements

Managing timeline as agreed with client to meet agreed deadlines

Identifying issues and reporting operational process defects to a responsible stakeholder for resolution.

Provide operational advice to senior management on risk mitigation and compliance enhancements.
Analyze and interpret regulations, ensuring the organization's practices align with legal requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance processes into business operations.

Resolve compliance issues and investigations.

Execute tasks related to audits and assessments to ensure adherence to global trade regulations.

Prepare and submit required documentation for customs and export activities.

Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding compliance queries.

Prepare, develop and deliver compliance training programs.

Support the resolution of compliance issues and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.

Monitoring accuracy of testing process via regular internal checks and internal KPI's

Liaising with client's service providers to ensure timely submission of documentation and evidence to support client's validation testing and elimination of root cause of incorrect test results

Managing any issues to ensure smooth and timely compliance or export control

Providing support to client where issues are found in the testing process and fix issues

Supporting client in any internal or external audit related to services in scope

Ensure the deployment of the Group Export Control Procedure within its organization (LoB/Region)

Ensure the management of export control approval requests within its organization, in connection with the different levels of approval in accordance with the Group Export Control Procedure

Analyze potential matches and clear them (with the support of the Group's Customs and International Sanctions Compliance Department)

Verify that goods are not subject to restrictions using proper tool and the customs tariff

Grant export control approvals for requests related to high-risk countries that do not involve restricted goods

Provide support to requests on export control from its organization

Ensure the training of impacted GEODIS teams

Applicant's profile

Experience in compliance and export control
Preferable experience in a leadership role in the scope
Extensive knowledge of international trade laws, export controls, and regulatory requirements, proficiency in compliance management software and tools, advanced English and MS office skills
