Job title

Airfreight Gateway Export Agent (m/w/d)

Job description

• Independent processing and complete handling of our gateway air freight shipments
• Competent contact person for questions as well as the organization and development of individual transport solutions in the gateway including purchasing and optimization of freight capacities
• Planning of air freight pallets (independent determination of the weight-volume mix)
• Effective communication with partners, airlines and colleagues at home and abroad
• Negotiating competitive fares with airlines for ad hoc bookings
• Adhere to Geodis Freight Forwarding SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for standard requirements, preparation and completion of consolidations
• Adhere to customer specific SOP for additional requirements of customers
• Identify shipments that require special handling and regulatory compliance due to shipment characteristics or value, documentation, commodity, country of origin or destination, shipper or consignee
• Enter required information into Geodis Freight Forwarding's freight management system
• Billing process for gateway shipments
• Compliance with all applicable regulations
• Willingness to work weekends (Saturdays) alternating within the team

Applicant's profile

- Successfully completed freight forwarding training
- Five years relevant work experience
- Good knowledge in Export Regulations, Export License requirements, and other export compliance issues
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
