Job description

Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The primary role of the person is to optimize the available allocation from Ocean carriers to maximize revenue yield from existing business. The role is required to monitor all agreed carrier contracts for enforceable and non-enforceable allocations to ensure origins optimize the utilization at all times.
Primary function
• Ability to work with and contributing to a strong SOP driven operational execution of end-end ocean freight control tower operations
• Seek opportunities to improve productivity across the Ocean operational functions (incl. supervisor level), for example by systematically applying Business Allocation methods and tools
• Ability to manage the optimized load planning rules are followed and directed to the vendors
• Awareness of the CFS (Buyer Consolidation process ) and manage the information flow and operational execution of the ocean freight stuffing/milestone tracking from CFS operations
• Familiarity of the booking process and liaison with freight forwarder (NVOCC) / SEA CARRIERS / CFS operators / Transporters / Customs Brokers for the shipment execution.
• Document control : timely document collection and checks as per the control points agreed.
• Work cross functionally with other GEO ( origin / destination ) for the origin / destination responsibilities seamlessly for the customer experience
• Work with Country Head to identify optimization requirements and opportunities
• Work with Global Account Manager / Operations HEAD to advise, align, and prioritize opportunities
• Drive processes performance, and ensure operations are executed with on time capturing of the data and effectively / efficiently using various IT tools to gain business insight using this data.
• Own business cases for implementation and value realization across the Region
• Promote and support a culture and discipline of Continuous Improvement.
• Manage proactively all regional ocean operational and process excellence related projects regarding resource planning, skills management, problem resolution and communication on progress and issues to regional management
• Support portfolio management of programs / projects from business perspective regarding overall harmonization of the program / project deliverables, description of scope, objectives, benefits, prerequisites and dependencies and project controlling / benefit tracking (Project Management Office)
• Liaise with carrier's ocean space capacity in order to drive utilization and performance.
• Supervise Allocation Management between Origin, Destination and Trade Management Team.
• Ensure correct utilization of selected carriers for the said trade.
• Assess and prioritize customers' allocations and routing based on the planning.

Applicant's profile

Skills/Qualifications
• Must have at least 3-5 years' experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding management
• Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
• Good communication and leadership skills as the role requires frequent communication to various directions and all management levels
• Allocation and tools knowledge and experience in their application
• Good ocean carriers' relationship and engagement
• Result & solution orientated
• Team player whilst also being a self-starter
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Tertiary education
• Excellent MS Office skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
