Job description
o Responsible for warehouse layout and design of new and existing warehouses in the Americas. Responsibilities will also include process validations, labor sizing, equipment audit, rack configuration etc.
o Responsible for the new process support and continuous improvement and innovative process improvements. Analysis and designs that add value to operational delivery and business performance. Assuring time optimization, increased efficiency and lower costs.
1. Primary function is to lead activities for implementing new or changing processes and systems in coordination with the Operations Management Leadership Team.
2. Research, coordinate and recommend process improvement throughout the operations and logistics functions to add measurable value to the company.
3. Research and analyze issues with varying complexity related to workforce performance; warehouse layout and flow; and material and workforce utilization. Make recommendations and implement solutions for improving processes, efficiency, and general warehouse practices.
4. Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints. Review industry policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
5. Utilize engineering tools and experience to find value (savings and service improvement) for our existing and potential new clients.
6. Support and lead in managing opportunity responses (Advisory, Supply Management and Strategic Outsourcing) with respect to the customer and Geodis' divisions or partners.
7. Participate in Geodis SCO Engineering innovation projects
Applicant's profile
• BSc / MSc (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering)
• At least 5 years of experience
• Consulting experience
• Experience in Warehouse Layout and Design Tools
• Experience in Activity Based Costing tools for labor planning
• Expertise in Supply Chain Management (Transportation, Warehousing, Procurement)
• Strong analytical skills, understand data collection, statistics and recognize relationship between various process functions
• Capacity to estimate functional IT needs linked to the proposed solution
• Competences in project management (planning, cost, quality, deadline)
• Knowledge of Logistics IT systems (WMS, TMS)
• Team player influencing and sharing learning with colleagues in business unit, the division, and the Group
• Self-starter and excellent organization skills to be able to handle multiple activities
• Candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills to be able to foster cross-functional activities
• Commercial awareness
