What we like you to do
As our Teamleader Customs, you are in the driver's seat when it comes to managing and coaching a driven team of – tbc - customs specialists. Together with your team, you will be handling all customs activities and administration. Next to that, you of all people know best how to develop & maintain strong long-term relationships with key and/or high potential accounts and Customs. All the while constantly looking for improvements to enhance operational excellence and keeping yourself up-to-date on the latest Customs regulations and market information. In short, you will make sure that you and your team are able to help our customers the best way possible and fulfil their logistical needs!

What's your focus
 Manage and coach a team to enhance operational excellence:
• Day-to-day management; performance & development of team members, recruitment, work structures/processes, leave/holidays, communication etc.
• Enhance operational excellence.

 Coordination of overall customs activities:
• Timely execution of customs clearance activities (in, through & out);
• Administrative follow up on un-cleared documents/ UTB's and customs disputes;
• Arranging VAT statements taking fiscal responsibilities and entities in consideration;
• Timely execution of financial activities for the month-end closing.

 Develop & maintain relationships with key/high potential accounts and Customs

 Other administrative & operational tasks:
• Administration of customer agreements regarding fiscal representation;
• Signal, reduce and report potential risks;
• Participate in projects, requests and initiatives and support the customs department;
• Remain up-to-date with Customs regulations, market & branch information and developments.
• Being a strong strategic sparring partner for the Customs Manager.

We are looking for a highly motivating leader with a problem-solving mindset. A self-starter who knows how to set and achieve challenging team goals and develop all team members to their highest potential. A strong communicator with an informal approach, keen on working in a sometimes hectic but most of all professional and fun environment. Is this you? And can we add this up to:

• Your vocational work & thinking level;
• 3-5+ years of solid freight customs experience in the international transportation & logistics industry;
• 1 to 2 years successfully leading a team;
• Your deep knowledge of logistical processes and customs formalities, legislation & tariff;
• Solid experience with IT systems and processes used within customs clearance;
• Effective and informal communication skills, fluent in both Dutch and English.
