Internal Sales Consultant

General Responsibilities

• Set realistic & ambitious sales & customer development goals to contribute to National Sales Plan.
• Plan the development of current and prospective CSA's with measurable KPI's ( NS, GM%, GP, File count
• Plan specific activities to ensure realization of the Sales Goals
• Continuously monitor own performance against Targets and adjust actions, if necessary
• Apply the General Sales Process to follow a proven sales process
• Develop and maintain customer relationships, in line with SLA and customer needs, to enhance client portfolio, safeguard sales revenue, GP.

Specific Responsibilities

• Complete and Submit Estimates and Tenders
• Follow up with Customers on Estimates and Tenders
• Measure and improve “Hit Rates”
• Create and Schedule Face-to-Face Sales Appointments for the External Sales Team
• Ensure and measure customer satisfaction levels
• Proactively contact customers to maintain and optimize customer relationships – setting up Appointment for External Sales Staff
• Deliver the defined service level (Product and Service Building blocks)
• Identify necessary frequency of contact per CSA, taking into account the recommendation of every 2 weeks.
• Identify and capitalize on new opportunities
• Communicate specific customer information to all concerned
• Review and update customer tariffs as and when necessary to protect profitability
• Consider and live the core values of the company when communicating internally and externally
• Generate quality sales leads for the global network, especially for strategic trade lanes & VM as per Corporate BD strategy
• Identify customer buying behaviour and record in CRM
• Conduct telemarketing and e-mail campaigns
• Identify cross selling opportunities & communicate same to the corresponding Business Unit
• Assist and motivate customers to use the booking/ collaboration platform


• Minimum Education Matric or equivalent – with Mathematics
• Self-Starter – Self Motivated
• Able to work within a Team and Stressful situations
• Structured, Organised, Analytical & Disciplined
• Fully Conversive in English
• 3-5 Years' Experience in Air & Sea Freight Forwarding Logistics
• Full understanding of INCO Terms
• Telephone Sales Skills
• Communication & Negotiation Skills
• Competent with Microsoft in particular Excel and Word
• Working Knowledge of a CRM Program an advantage
